Waller’s on the Lake

I checked off a few firsts when we visited Waller's on the Lake in Trenton. It was my first time here, it was the first time we enjoyed a really fun pontoon ride that was provided by a Supper Club, and it was the first time I’ve been waited on at a Supper Club by a waitress who just finished her first year at Harvard. I guess that I could have been waited on by someone going to Harvard in the past since I normally don’t ask, but for whatever reason I asked this time and I asked her a bunch of questions after she told me she just finished her first year at Harvard. She said that she is studying international law which sent me straight into a having case of narcolepsy, look it up if you don’t know what that is, but I was intrigued that she has managed to go to Harvard for what some people might be shelling out for junior college.

Waller’s on the Lake is gorgeous inside. They make very tasty cocktails, and from every seat in the dining room, there is a view of the lake. It was the first time too, that I said, “That’s dumb!”, which means that the cheese curds called Wisconsin Donuts here are absolutely spectacular and certainly some of the best I’ve ever eaten. I loved the soup too which was Spinach, Coconut & Zucchini With Garlic Croutons, sounds sketchy, but it’s amazing. All the food from the Four Cheese Mac with Short Ribs recommended by the beautiful Hostess to the Pork Snhnitzel recommended by the Harvard Waitress to the Coconut Shrimp that The Other Chaser had a taste for was delicious. It wasn’t the first time that I ordered three entrees if you were counting. Every dessert on the dessert tray looked fabulous, but I abstained from that…this time.

The final highlight was a nice little pontoon ride with our very fun Captain. Besides all of his other interesting stories, I hope that you get to hear why this place is called Waller’s on the Lake firsthand from him because this young man had a lot to do with naming this place.
